Idle trouble, help! (already searched)

Ok, I put in my PFC on last Saturday, started it up with no problems, ran it for probably a couple hours that night (about 30 mins warmup/learn-mode, then a longish drive), and no problems at all. Sunday I went on a longer drive and everything was beautiful...no problems at all. Monday I take it to work, no problems. Today I go and start it up to go to work and the idle is wierd. It's sort of choppy, kind of like a piston engine is when it's missing on one cylinder. It sounds bumpy, rather than the normal rotary hum...sort of like a throaty v8 idle, and the car is shaking a lot more than normal. There's also an extremely pungent fuel smell coming from the exhaust, something I hadn't noticed the other days I was driving it.

I checked the MAP sensor and it's still all connected (as far as I can tell. I checked around under the hood for any loose looking hoses and found none. I double checked that I have enough oil, fuel and coolant, no problems there. I reset the values on the PFC (used the data init function) which really didn't matter since I hadn't changed anything at all since I got it in.

So, anyone ever have this problem? I'm really at a loss here since it just sprung up on me. Anything else I can check on? I'd like to leave reinstalling the stock ECU for last since it's a PITA to do (gotta reconnect the wires and stuff in addition to getting the PFC out and the stock one in).

Post here, PM me or email me (beckhelm@pacbell.net).

Thanks in advance,

Page 23 of the manual. Make sure that you are using the NORMAL map sensor set. Just going into one of the optional ones and coming out of it can turn it on, but only NORMAL works!

Chuck, you're the ****** man! I hadn't even thought of that...i went in to check my PIM voltage for skotx the other night and was looking around. Since there's no confirmation type deal for changing settings, I must have looked at something other than normal and just backed out of it. Sheesh. Ok, learned a neato lesson today, but man, talk about a sigh of relief. *PHEW*

Thanks again!

i always wondered how "initialized" the pfc got when you re-init. guess it only reverts back the inj/timing maps.
