PFC and Ign timing

From the Datalogit manual it is pretty clear that there are no base timing maps, however, it looks like other things can cause actual timing to differ from the maps. Timing is retarded when coolant temps are below a set point, retarded when coolant temps are above a set point and retarded when intake temps are above a set point. Looks like this can be made to be boost dependent as well; retard more if temp elevated and above a boost set-point (but I may be interpreting this wrong). Throttle position and battery voltage affect ignition as well but probably not timing?

Another interesting bit. Injector lag time is altered based on battery voltage. Maybe this is why additional grounding occasionally helped the old 3K RPM hesitation?

Great reading, get yourself a copy.

Yeah, it is amazing how much stuff the ecu keeps up with and how much it can change things based on different inputs (ie..temps, voltage...). I have read the Datalog manual 3 times now and am still finding stuff you wouldn't think.
