Power FC pfc connector line up!

pfc connector line up!
my ecu
mmm-mmm-000-mmm
pfc
mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm
mmm»connector pins
000»empty/no pins
i plugged in the pfc into my car and the first thing i notice is the fan running -mind you the car has been sitting for almost an hour. fired her up and everything is normal. could the extra pins be for a boost controller etc.? or must it be a direct match up?
