Power FC one last but quick question... i promise
one last but quick question... i promise
okay.. here's a quick but critical question...
i know PFC has the ability to self learn the idle etc etc etc to find a perfect idle.
i don't have a FC commander at the moment. and also i'm running on someone else's fuel mapping and ignition mapping.
at the moment i'm suffering from bad idle... it stalls quite often... even at the traffic light.. the RPM go too low... and it just stalls... need to restart the engine...
are there any quick solution on how to make it learn faster ?
i'm now adjusting the throttle line give it a higher RPM as temporary solution to get the RPM higher so that it doesn't dies off...

You have to have some knowledge of feedback systems and how they work to understand why the PFC's might be failing.
Basically one or more of the parameters are too far out of range for the PFC to compensate. You can still adjust two of these without the commander. Idle air flow, use the air adjusting screw to increase or decrease it. Adjust the dashpot
to slow down throttle body closure. These have been discussed many times here as most newbs have these problems.
Ask Dave about my notes.

you need the hand controller to reset it or "DATA INIT" the unit
this will reset to factory defaults (including maps and all data) and then when you first start the car it will being self idle leran. it only does it once for the first 30 minutes after a DATA INIT has been done successfully. it should sort out your dodigy idle problem but youll need someone to copy your maps if its been tuned, and then restore it once done.
the FC commander manual gives you the install procedure and self idle learn procedure
alternative its in my PFC faq here

28) How do I install the PowerFC?
