Need datalogit for tuning?

I have a Power FC in my FC3S. I do not have the datalogit. I plan to get my car tuned in late May... Is it necessary that I have the datalogit?

If you have a Commander you can make basic changes. Who's doing your tuning? To get the most out of your tune, your tuner will need to have a Datalogit or be a Power Excel authorized shop.

Steve Kan will be doing the tuning. Dyno will be in Center Pointe, IA at Black Widow Diesel.
