I fully agree that you should pay for the program like all of us did or another opyion would be to put your 7 back to stock if the $330 is too much to spen cuz i pay that much or more evertime I turn around with my 7...lol

I think he just wants to exam the Datalogit capability and see how the ECU is programmed for varying application/setups. I don't think he's trying to get something for nothing. Plus, Wargasm's FC-Edit document is a tell-all that contains a myriad of general tuning info and should boost ApexI's P-FC sales [do the ApexI guys hate the Datalogit guys?]. Obviously, he needs the FC-box to apply FC-Edit software and Alpine can afford Datalogit if he can find one.

Here's the bottom line on this. Datalogit (FC_Edit) has asked owners not to share the software. We are guessing that it is not too difficult to reverse engineer the box and software. Most of us are respecting that request. If you have an ign or timing map that you want to examine simply see if someone with the software would open them and send you a screenshot. Otherwise, I go along with the suggestion to purchase the system. Best add-on to a Power-FC since the commander.

Hey Jeff48
I just installed my new Power FC. Runs fast and it took care of a 99Spec TT problem I have/had.
My datalogic software and adapter is on back order.
Anyway I'd like to hook up with you on the next event.

I just wanted to look at some maps that are available from the forum, with just the datalogit software, you can't do anything with it, the converter box is the essential part for the datalogit to work.

Actually I am afraid you are missing the point. We fully understand that you must own a datalogit box for the software to be useful for tuning.
The FC_edit software however can be reverse engineered fairly easily and the authors have asked the owners to protect it. We have agreed.
What is wrong with asking someone to post or email screenshots of the info you are interested in.
BTW we are all aware that once you have seen the screenshots you can hand enter the data to the PFC through the commander.
As has been strongly recommended many times, shell out the bux and own the product.

Once you have the datalogit and basic FC_Edit software which comes with it, and until you get on the datalogit user group (which can be frustratingly long sometimes), I will be glad to send you the software updates via email.

I signed up for the user group a week ago and still no approval. Sucks. Anyway I'm still waiting for the Datalogic box and software. My PowerFC was pre programmed with my Mods but I know It could use some tweeking.

Good to hear. As soon as you get the basic FC-Edit software PM me with your email account and I will send you the lastest software. The original install has to be done from the cd that comes with the datalogit, but the updates can be handled between owners with no problem. I would be glad to help you out with the tuning whenever you can get some time to meet me somewhere between there and here.

you know, jeff48, the datalogit has been on back order for pretty much every place that has it for months now. Im not knocking the "purchase the product" thing at all, but having to wait that long to be able to tune my car myself? That's a bit excessive don't you think?

Sorry, Mestre, I don't sell the thing....I bought mine years ago and have nothing but good to say about it. Sometimes things ARE worth waiting for. BTW there are some great options out there to the PFC that come with their own software and logging packages. I am especially impressed by the Haltech, TECIII and AEM packages. The AEM software is really very good but has slightly less resolution that the datalogit, Haltech and TECIII as you may know, have unlimited resolution.

I say from what I hear anyway the Datalogic software is made by part time guy's.
I say post it for free!!! I shelled out the money. but I'm tired of waiting. I don't see why it takes so damn long to copy CD's and make the databox interface. Its just a RS232 converter. I've got the $350.00 to spend for the software/hardware box but still nothing to show for it.
A friend offered his for a loaner till my stuff gets in. I hate borrowing other peoples stuff. I want my own. The people at Datalogic should just sell the rights to some one that can distribute it faster.
I"M JUST DAMN IMPATIENT!!!!!!!!!
