Just use the DL to adjust the injectors and overlap setting as has been discussed here so many times. As far as fuel maps go, none are really that great as each engine setup behaves differently and just by setting up the injectors, the ECU compensates automatically to ball park value.
Only if someone had all the exact same mods as you would a map make that much differenece. Just add about 10% fuel when first starting to AFR tune and do that on the PIM maps as a temporary starting point.
IGL/IGT TIMING is what is MOST important when begining tuning. This depends on porting and boost.

Anyone can tune AFRs with the correct equipment.
But timing vs boost is a different story. You will rarely see a posted map for a well tuned car as it takes much time and money to get there. Thus some tuners like Steve make a partial living doing it.
On your own, it takes a long time to get there and even then it will be limited to the type of engine you have.
I been leaning since 1999 but only have experience with stock or very mild ports and only boost up to 16PSI. I am not realy qualified to tune for large ports or high boost This applies to most part time tuners.
Now you know why most experienced people really don't want to give away their
maps. We sometimes swap with others whom we know and communicate with a lot.
This is made worse by the fact that there aren't many RX-7s in the USA and very few tuners. But there are many more who proclaimed to know but don't.

correct timing is critical even down to one degree and most motors like different numbers.
you either hire Steve Kan, BDC or some other experienced tuner to get you set pretty well
OR
you build or purchase a digital EGT unit and log it into your DL. once you have done this i welcome you to the world of real Tuning. if you have the proper instruments excellent tuning is not at all difficult./// of course digital logging of knock and AFRs, along w (optionally) fuel pressure and all the usual stuff is also needed...
if you don't have the ability to log egts you are really flying blind.
if you can do circuitry, or know someone who can, here's the thread to build the egt thermocouple convertor complete w circuit: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=273912
i built the above unit as a twin and log both front and rear rotors.
OR
AEM just came out w a slick built digital EGT 4 channel convertor. i recommend strongly you go to Teamrip.com and buy their Thermocouples. they are instantaneous. ('don't know how they do it...) $45 per.
it's worth it not to fry your engine. you are looking for 1640 degrees pre turbo.
good luck,

I'm new at this so bare with me...........So what is the tuning difference between a wide-band and a EGT? Is one geared more to tuning something in particular?
