More info on my problem (possessed)
you can see the original question below
Ok heres the problem,
Everytime my car reaches a temp of 94 deg on the commander (highway driving or any time) it will go into a idle bounce between 1000-2000rpm. The car has only done this since installing the PFC. I have had the car tuned and checked out by a very good RX7 mechanic. Everything seems perfect, and was running so until i added the PFC.
I am at an absolute loss, any sugestions would be very appreciated.
what i have learned,
is by changing the when the temperature when the fans come on in determines when the car starts is idle hop. i chnged it to a highher temperature using the software, and now the idle bounge consistently occurs at a higher temperature.
Could the fans be causing this broblem??

Quick Question?
Did you change the idle air screw when you installed the PFC? This could need to be closed some, because when the PFC says to turn the fans on the ecu also goes from
Idle A.E (Idle no electrical load) to Idle E/L (Idle electrical load)
When the PFC turns the fans on it also says that i will need some more air to compensate for the electrical load. That the alt is going to pull the motor down.
But if you don't change the Idle air screw when the computer says to bring more air it will rev higher than the computer wanted and the PFC trys to bring it back down, then it repeats this over and over
You can test this by running the A/C it should do it with that also, probably not as bad but still...

the idle air screw is all but 1/8 of a turn from in.
the air condtioner does not seen to affect the idle. I have been using it to get fans on when warm as i have turned the fans to come on later due to the idle bounce. Im sure in someway its being caused by the fans.
Should i reset the PFC and relearn the idle process?

ok
here's a little more info. i reset the PFC today, The idle is very good, but the same issue still exists.
One curiosity, i got gas after. the PFC was at 94 temperature pulling off the highway at the gas station. after maybe 3 minutes i started the car the idle bounce began, the pfc read 104c . i turn off the car right away restart and the commander shows 100c and it idles fine. does everyone else get that much heat soaking temerature after just 2 or 3 minutes off?

YEA! That is why I and others say to move air temp sensor to the throttle body elbow or IC outlet. The COSMO had the it in the TB elbow. We have know about this Mazda screw up for a long time.
