Map Sensor Reading

Hi guys,

I haven't started my car yet after the fresh rebuild and was just checking everything yesterday and notice in the sensor check screen on my commander that the PIM voltage is sitting at 0.07. Is my map sensor done or is it just because the car has never been started needs to be adjusted?

This is a new Apexi PFC and I have a single turbo conversion, the engine is new and has never been started as I was rebuilding the entire car, map sensor was working before the rebuild on previous ECU.

Any thoughts or information would be appreciated.

On a factory 2 bar sensor, without the car running, the voltage should be somewhere in the middle of 0-5v. Yours is reading heavy vacuum, so it may be fried. However map sensors do not go bad just sitting around.

Disconnect the map sensor, then plug it back in and see if anything changes. Disconnect the battery, remove the connectors on the PFC and reinstall, to make sure you have all the connectors seated properly.

The sensor screen also shows that you have eliminated the OMP and do not have the fuel temp sensor plugged in, which is typical when upgrading the secondary rail. Are those parts missing from the car?

Hey bud, thanks man, was my thinking too, going to check the wiring to the map sensor as I have had nothing but trouble with my wiring from the previous company that tired to fix my car, I did try unplug and replug it back in but nothing changed.
Yes I have removed the OMP and have aftermarket fuel system so no fuel temp sensor.

Ok so measure the voltage on the plug with the map sensor unplugged, I got 5v on the brown and white, 0.1 on the black and green and nothing on the green and yellow, so am I right in saying that the signal wire is not making a connection with the ECU?

Jumper the brown/white (constant 5v) with the signal wire green/yellow, the commander should then read 5v on the PIM and will confirm that the wiring is OK.

Black/green is ground which makes its connection to pin 4D via the X-05 harness connector. This is small connector under the dash. if you had your harness out when you removed the engine this may not be plugged in.

If that all checks out then you may need to change the map sensor.

Thanks man, yeah I replace both green/yellow and brown/white just to be sure and ran them directly to the ECU plugs, well I spliced into the brown and white wire as I was not sure if it powered something else, now everything is working, getting the correct voltage to the PFC, so all good! Thanks so much for all the help, much appreciated, hopefully this can help someone else in my situation.
