Smile Looking for some Tuning pointers.

I've owned my 94 Type R for 2 years and I've just got to the point where the cosmetics are finished ( she's nearly standard but real pretty ! )and I am now looking to up the power. I have always completed all my own maintenance ( 30 years on pistons ) so tuning this car is a new challenge.

All engine mods from Standard:

Greddy SMIC
Greddy Elbow
HKS Induction
Efini Y Pipe
Apexi PFC ( Running on Base Map )
HKS SSQ BOV.
Koyo Alum Rad.

New engine rebuild 4K miles ago. Runs on Shell V power ( UK 98 Ron ) with Millers Octane booster , so ball park : 100 RON total.

Injector duty peaks@90%
Knock averages 26 - 30 max
Engine temp constant @82deg C

I’m running a dataloggit and LM-1. I understand the principles of tuning, but not all the rotary practicles as yet. I have recorded 6 logging runs to date looking for the norm. and my problem now is finding fault with the tuning. The AFR’s at cruise are 14-15 and change uniformly to peak at 10.7 at WOT. The car passed the UK MOT emission test without problems ( Lamda 1.02 ) . The boost pattern is constant and currently set at 0.8 max. The cars now starts and runs faultlessly after fitting the pfc and a complete viton pipe change and fitting Dale Clark,s super valves. I have ordered some 1600cc secondaries to deal with the inj.duty and a HKS twin power for future progress.
So ideally I could use a comparison map to see how far out I am, the base map can’t be that good ?. Or some pointers in how far I can safely lean out or advance the timing with this set up. I know tuning is individual to each motor but my problem is I can't see where the base map is failing, if at all ?

The car is a weekend warrior so I basically use it as a hobby/testbed to try out my tuning skills. I'm not looking for a tyre shredder, just a realible, tuned, fun motor. Re-Maps in the UK cost $700, so the more I can do the better my golf clubs are.

Cheers

Bob ( UK )

Well, you can definitely lean that puppy out at cruise and WOT and make a good bit more power while lowering duty cycles. Feel free to PM and I can give you some pointers.
