Power FC knock while cranking?
knock while cranking?
So this situation just occurred this week. Whenever I crank my engine from cold start, I see an instant high knock bar jumping (highest peak record was 76 on commander) just before the engine starts to spin.
Is it just noise of something become loose/vibration?
About two weeks ago I had changed my leaky pinion oil seal. I remove the ppf to do that. Also changed my spark plugs and engine oil. I did it properly and i replace everything properly.
Any idea what would cause the instant high knock while cranking?
Edit: It happens only on cold start. If I drive around for about 3 minutes, turn off the engine and crank it back, the knock reading is normal (6 to 11)

^I would like to think it is just noise.. but really , the time i got high knock reading (70 to 90 , never experience higher than that) is when there were backfires on decel.
On normal everyday driving i see less than 40.
Is it possible my engine backfires on cold start?
again, on warm/hot start everything is normal...

jesus. the engine isn't even running yet, give it a break...
i can understand being **** since you own a rotary engine and they are delicate little flowers that need plenty of care and attention but if you overdo it then like this, every time you start your car you are worried it's going to not start one day. disregard any info the PFC is spitting out during cranking unless you are having starting problems, period.
