inj duty, boost what do you think?

I have been running really rich (from dyno/wideband tuning since last year) so I wanted a little more out of the car......let me know what you guys think of this or if you need more info:
Temp outside: 82F 96% Humidity
3rd gear run to redline: highest 87.5 % duty cycle
lowest 82.5% duty cycle
settings:
1) Pr 0.85kg/cm2 64%
Sc 0.80kg/cm2 70%

2) Pr 0.90kg/cm2 64%
Sc 0.80kg/cm2 70%
Now that I think about it, I don't remember which setting I was using but they're both close. I hit 13psi on my boost gauge every time. Any ideas are greatly appreciated......Thanks!

OK for now. But after doing all those mods for the engine and planning to go single turbo; you SHOULD have increased you fuel flow capacity at the same time.

Mow you will need to go larger secondaries and bigger fuel pump t be safe..

Yeah, either Anthony NYC or Jason at RX7store are going to supply me with a new fuel rail w/1600 sec.....
Ok for now meaning could be better? Can I get 15psi and still be safe? Should I check my PIM's? Let me know............

Finished a 2nd round of chemo a week ago Friday and was release last Monday. But now I am back in due to a fever.

With 1200 secondaries and RP's 25% more flow NIPPODENSO pump, my duty cycle was 79% at 14-15psi boost.

You should not push more than 85% unless for very short time periods like on the street. Not safe for track road racing.

You need a linear O2 sensor to safely monitor AFRs.

Ok, so as long as the duty cycle is below 85%, I'm okay.....what can I do to finetune the above settings without wideband. I'll be going on the dyno in the next couple of weeks as soon as it's cooler out. When I was at Rampage in Queens NY, I put down 357@15psi. But my a/f ratio was in the high 11's I believe...was summertime. This was on stock injectors.
I still think the car is running rich, what I'm trying to say is maybe I can cut back on the primary setting, put it back to 15lbs again, etc. Things like that for now until dyno time. Good to see you back aagin too...

It depends on your fuel map and who tuned it. I doubt your higher boost level map was tuned. It's really hard to say if it's safe or not w/o hooking it up to a wideband. You might want to check your fuel cell and see if you're safe to do so. it'll be nice if you get an upgraded fuel pump, but if you're on a budget, you can get away by hooking your fuel pump striaght to the battery and use the wire that used to feed to the pump and tied that to a high current relay.

Im at 79 percent as well on the rp pump and the 1300s while running 14-15lbs of boost

I want to run more boost and want to get closer to 400hp with the m2 twins i have....

I will be needing more fuel...will it be better to lose the 1300s and get the 1600s/rail or go with an aic and inj's.??

please let me know...

thanks

j

PS...get well soon chuck...we spoke thru email a long time ago and you were very helpful..i wish you a speedy recovery for sure!

artguy,

I highly doubt you will need more fuel than that for your M2 twins... even with a single turbo, 550s + 1300s are enough for well beyond 400 rwhp.

How much power does your car make now, and what is your a:f? If it is not tuned yet, tuning it will probably bring your duty cycles down.

I have seen 400 rwhp on stock injectors...(I wouldn't recommend it though). I have seen 485 rwhp on 1300's with a T-78 on 116...

You were at 79% a couple weeks ago, but we've cut it back quite a bit. I did'nt realize how much it has dropped either until I just looked up one of your last runs....73% at N18:P19 running a 10:1 AFR. Plenty more fuel in there...yeeeeeee haawww!

I just dropped in 850's and 1300's. It's nice to be under 70%. The stock injector's o-rings were TOAST! Running at 99% duty cycle has to be hard on the injectors.

Okay, after WB tuning for the past week, I back up to 70% INJ duty, now at higher boost (1bar.) Glad I have a little cushion with the 850/1300cc combo.
