How much does Power FC help

I am having a Power FC put in by check point. My question is this, does it help. I have the Pettit unlimited ECU for the computer. Many people are putting in the PFC but I have yet to read any comments after it has been done as to weather it helps. My mods include

Pettit Intake
Pettit Down Pipe
Pettit Mid Pipe
Pettit cat back
Pettit unlimited ECU
Pettit power pulley kit
Pettit rebuilt motor with 3mm apex seals
Pettit intercooler upgrade.

Last question, any idea how much power I will get? for some reason I am only getting 221 to the rear wheel now as measured by the G Tech.

Thanks

Heya,

Well with those mods and you are only seeing 221 rwhp, that is not so good. And the g-tech is relatively accurate, +/-20hp. You should be seeing around 270 to 320. Most people with a stock setup and healthy engines get around 220 hp.

Anyways, the PFC does make a big difference, and I think you will see that difference with your mods. Your car will run smoother and I think you will see increased numbers on the g-tech. I cant tell you how much of an increase, but there will be a difference. I would highly recommend getting your car dyno tuned with the PFC.

Please post the results of the g-tech once youve installed the PowerFC.

More than likely you've got a boost problem if you're only seeing 220 HP (probably secondary). You're in the same boat as me. Welcome aboard, matey! Do you have a boost gauge and does it show a healthy boost pattern? Get your car to a Dyno so you can get a visual graph of your results. Sorry none of this answers your original question, but this issue is near and dear to my heart, because I didn't even know my car was sick until I got it Dynoed.

Getting your PFC dyno tuned like Atilla suggested would be ideal.

Thanks for the info. I thought my power was fairly low especially with new turbos. I will post the test when I get back from CA. The PFC is being installed by CheckPoint and dyno tuned.

I know I could do it myself. However I would prefer somebody that has done them before to tune it for me on the dyno. They are only charging about $35 to put it in and take care of the wires. While they are doing it I am going to have them give everything the once over to ensure all is ok. I am starting early for racing season.

Car does 14-10-14. Great boost with no problems. I was hitting 16lbs of boost and had to change the restrictor pill to reduce it to 14. Test with G-Tech was with 12psi.

My 88TII had 219 to the wheel, that is why I am so bothered by the power in my 3rd. As we all know power is money and I have certainly put enough into this to get more power. All the mods above do not mention the full race suspension I have on the car for racing.
