My fc is backfiring / breaking up like crazy when revving between 1k-3krpm...however when I unplug the map sensor it revs smoothly (with lumpy idle) is the map sensor bad? How can i check it? this is what i got in sensor check... engine off just key on (not sure why the pic flipped tho...sorry)

 

Which map sensor? What is the reading on the monitor screen with the key on, car not running, then when it is idling?

 

The apexi pfc map sensor...car won't idle so I couldn't get the idle reading. Also the fuel pump is coming on and off when looking at the commander...shouldn't it be on as soon as the key is turned to on position?

 

When you post a picture, why did you not rotate is properly before posting?
Windows OS does it easily unless you are using another OS on you computer.

If you wrongly chose the wrong map sensor with the Commander, it will do as you mentioned.
Go back in the commander and check it out. When you go in and view a option and get out, that one is chosen.

 

It's in correct orientation on my Mac...when I attached it it flipped. Also during switch test the clutch switch is stuck on and the fpr is flickering on and off until the car eventually dies...
