Hope it isnt a daft question re mapping
Last year i had a PFC installed and mapped, when i got the FD back i was told to return the car as it had lost its map???(It did have a flat battery when it was dropped off (by transporter) This was late last year so i havnt really had the chance to use the car much, but what i am getting is the battery draining?if it isnt started/used for a couple of weeks its flat.
So my question??? how do i check on the commander if the pfc as still got its map?
THANKS

The PFC does not lose its "map" or settings by disconnecting power.
Did they do a data initialize by accident? I think that resets the PFC to the base map.
Just apply power to the car and go though some of your settings that you know will be specific to your car, like boost settings, fuel injectors, idle settings and others like that.

Thanks for the reply, Still a bit lost :-( the FD was sent to a well known RX7 specialist, with it been 300mls away we decided to send it down for a round trip to get the pfc fitted and mapped,
i did post on here when the car got returned re; the lost mapping, the specialist at the time suggested that it might have been a faulty pfc?, the car made a return journey for re-mapping the outcome was all well and mapped, and that was it
I know the PFC comes with a base map, just curious is there a way of seeing the maps on the commander? hope i am not talking rubish??? New to FD's ;-(

You're loosing me now.
By this do you mean installed and tuned?
Who said this, they could be right if they know what they are doing.
and that was it, you mean did it lose the settings again? And how did YOU know that?
The base map or tuned map is what you see under all the settings. Like leading and trailing timing, fuel, and many others.
Thats cool, just trying to decipher your post.

Think i am loosing myself :-) all it was with the problems late last year regarding fitting the PFC, i was thinking the commander will show two maps, A/ The base map B/ and the tuned map, it was really just a case of hoping i could press somthing on the commander and it will show the maps?
The FD is heavily modified, i.e. HKS TO4 single turbo ect ect, all my past cars have all been normally aspirated so its new to me all this, suppose 2006 will be a learning year

You will only see one map on the PFC when you are looking at the commander and scrolling through its screens. The will be the loaded map that the car runs off of.
So it sounds like your car is pretty heavily modified? True? So you probably have different injectors installed? True?
Go to your injector setting screen and look to see if you have numbers in there that match the injectors you have installed. Example: If you should have 850s as primaries and 1600s as secondaries you will see those numbers there.
If you don't have this you probably should and take a read through it.

edit: there is a little blurp at the top of page 13 that also explains how the PFC's memory works.
Good Luck,
Joe
