Apexi PowerFC Pro - Discontinued
Hi All,
After checking with my supplier it seems the Apexi PowerFC Pro model is discontinued for most models and will no longer be available (even as AP Engineering possibly).
Below is a list of the PowerFC Pro models still available, the rest are discontinued:
Nissan Skyline ER34 RB25DET2 (H/C 415-N001 Included)
Nissan Silvia/180SX CA18DET S13/RS13 (H/C 415-N001 Included)
Nissan Pulser RNN14 SR20DET5 (H/C 415-N001)
Nissan Skyline HCR32 RB20DET (H/C 415-N001 Included)
Suburu Imprezia GC8 A/B/C EJ20G (H/C 415-N001 Included)
Toyota MR2 3S-GTE SW20 III,IV,V (H/C 415-T001 Included)
Toyota Levin/Trueno AE86 4A-GE1 (H/C 415-T001 Included)
Toyota Supra JZA80 2JZ-GTE1 (Early version) H/C 415-T001 Includes
Toyota Supra JZA70 1JZ-GTE3 (H/C 415-T001 Included)
Does anyone have any ideas/reasons as to why it was discontinued and also will the be a newer/alternate version avaiable to provide similar features as the Pro version?
The benefits of the PRO version were IGN cut instead of FUEL cut on rev limit reach and it also had 0km/h or 0mp/h REV LAUNCH function which gave the user an alterate rev setting for consitent launches.
Note the REV LAUNCH seems to be confused a lot with the 3rd party Anti Lag function from Datalogit.

Yes sorry I should have been a bit clearer, in Australia at least we see 4 main Apexi PowerFC versions
Apexi PowerFC Normal (Standard handcontroller and Airflow meter)
Apexi PowerFC DJetro (Standard handcontroller and MAP sensor)
Apexi PowerFC AP Engineer (Standard handcontroller and Airflow for non standard Apexi supported engines, ie sr20 in GTIR pulsar)
Apexi PowerFC Pro (Pro Handcontroller with REV LAUNCH and IGN CUT instead of FUEL CUT)
I have also seen at least two photos of the D1 gold hand controller
The Nissan Skyline's run off airflow meters so our "normal" or "mainstream" version is the standard airflow meter one.
Unfortunately for us (skyline community) no english manual exists. The manuals I have seen are the Integra english ECU manual, RX7 Command manual in english. I have the recent RB20/RB25/SR20 manuals but they are in japanese. The english Rx7 manual I have looked at is a little outdated and we don't have a few of the functions, and a few are missing (different car of course). The jap manuals I have contain all the latest settings and features

Some other questions I also have however:
Does the PowerFC Pro "feature set" come from the Hand Commander allowing you to change additional stuff or is it ECU changes as well as the different Commander flash? (I assume ECU and Commander changes)
Why doesnt the SR20 commander work on the RB25 PowerFC? Why werent all commanders the same and the main logic / control come from the ECU, allowing users to interchange commanders?
They should have made similar to the Rev Speed Meter but it plugged directly into the side of the PowerFC and had the same screen / setup as the RSM but you could basically plot / monitor values directly from the ECU (including the SENSOR SW items, not just the basic sensors). As its sometimes awkward to watch the hand controller driving, whereas the RSM can easily be mounted on the dash, and give you acesss to all the items, just not 8 at once
The tune data should be saved on a flashcard / memory card allowing the user to backup / save. But then again they would "prefer" u goto a Power Excel dealer and pay to have that service
Where does the self learn idle settings go? What does it learn? Do they alter once learnt? Does it have exact 10 minute timings on the 3 stages of the self idle learn is it only a "rough" area where it expects certain voltages
I have actually written a self help FAQ / Guide which is mainly aimed at the Skyline version of the PowerFC as we get swamped with questions on the PowerFC all the time, so i did a guide to save our members answering them all the time, the same ones over and over.
Anyway have a read / look and if you can offer any feedback / comments that would be great

I have also just noticed that my supplier is now listing the PFC models slightly different
ie: the Nissan R33 version is now 414-AN012 instead of 414-N012
This applies to all models, does anyone know whats different or what has changed/removed compared to the 414-X??? models ???
