Help: Power FC ecu

I recently bought a power FC from rx7store.net and asked a fairly well known Autoshop to install it.

After speaking with a representative from rx7store.net, he stated that he would pre-program it before he sent it out. This is where I told them I was getting a Pettit Downpipe, a resonated midpipe, an HKS carbon Ti exhaust, and a Pettit air intake installed into my car within the same time. Cool, no problem he told me.

After about 2 weeks of labor, the shop called and told me they were finished and that my car was good to go.

It wasn't..

I drove it home, no problem. However, the next morning, when I started her up, all I saw was a dim dashboard, and the sound of clicks without an ignition.

Could it be an alternator problem? Maybe, but I'm sure it wasn't due to the fact that I had a full service done not too long ago finding no problems within the alternator. Could I have left the light on? Not a chance.

When I asked my friend to jump start my car for me, we heard and noticed something very abnormal. The fans in my Rx-7 began to spin even though my key was sitting inside my pocket. I didn't give much though into it and proceeded to start the car which ignited with success. I let the car run and drove steadily around the block a few times before I turned it off. I turned the engine off, only this time the fan stopped spinning.

Later that afternoon, I started up my car again to notice the SAME problem. I jump started it, and the fans began to spin once again. This is where I immediately called the autoshop and addressed this problem. He said, "oh yeah I saw the fans spinning after I put in the ECU, and after a while it would stop where I though the problem was fixed. Evidently it wasn't." I asked him if I could bring my car to him in which he had no problem.

Within around the same time, I called rx7store.net where I spoke with the same representative with the problem. He spoke with a technician and told me that the same problem happened only once to a previous customer in which the loose wires daggling which was used for the stock ECU were to be grounded by the chassis.

I went to the shop, and while I saw him toggling around the car's electronics, figuring out what the problem was, I addressed to him what rx7store.net told me. He began to ground the loose wires around the Power FC ECU and justice be told, the fans stopped rotating. Only this time, when we started the car again, the 30A fuse blew. As he tried to use another fuse, it blew once again.

This is where he pretty much told me the problem was the Power FC ECU itself, and installed the stock ECU back where it was. After I asked him to double check with the rx7store.net technician, he pretty much told me in little to less terms to get my car out of his shop.

Can anyone who knows about this problem and knows what they're doing please tell me what exactly is wrong with my car?

Thank you in advance,
paul

-Sorry for the "tldr" type of question. Tried to be as specific as I could have been.

If the alternator had died on you, the car probably wouldn't get very far on just the battery charge. It sounds like you got a short draining the battery somewhere.

Quick question, does the stock ECU operate now that it is back in?

A friend who worked at a dealership told me my alternator was fine. But yeah, once the stock ECU was put back in, it runs fine and the fans does not spin without the car running.

For some reason, that fan thing sounds familar but I can't put my finger on it.

I have to check my notes.

I'd really appreciate if you could. I'll be calling rx7store.net tomorrow and hopefully this problem could be easily solved before I consider shipping back the power fc that i recently bought

Use the commander to check the functions menu for problems.
Check the manual on how to do this.
