Few Questions before I go for tuning.

First of all I know nothing about tuning AT ALL. so I'll be taking my car to get professionally tuned.
I need to get it tuned soon so I can pass emissions and just so the car runs well. I have nothing else to drive right now sadly.
I have both a straight through mid-pipe and a stock cat.
Should I tune on the straight pipe and just throw the cat in for emissions? Or just stay with the cat and pay the expensive tuning fee again once i go single?

Here's a list of the car's mods that I believe would be relevant.
fresh streetported engine
Rich man's non-sequential twins with ported wastegate
Power FC with data-logit.
AEM wideband
Apexi AVC-R
SR motorsports intercooler
emissions removal
down pipe
RB dual tip catback
walboro fuel pump
stock injectors and ignition.

well how long till you go single???
Y pay for it twice??? i really dont think that the Cat or straight pipe would have much of an influence on your tune.....

I think the other key problem would be what you have in your mod list....... "Emissions Removial"
If you want call a local tuner... and get his advice if the car would even pass....

A tuner around here is KDR... his number is 610 298 - 1946

It'll pass. I have a tube running straight from the air pump to the cat. If the tune is good I imagine it'll do just fine.

Engine was done by them, taking it to UMS to do the tuning but might ask Glen to oversee the tuning since its his portwork etc. UMS is well known around here for being good with rotaries.

Opinions here will help quite a bit too though.

The trick to passing emissions is to have the cat stupid hot before you go. As long as vacuum is tuned nice and lean, you'll have no problem passing emissions. Just make sure you get the cat stupid hot before going or if you can ask the operator to rev the car to 6k for 20 seconds before he starts the test. I tested this with an emissions analyzer thanks to a local shop as we were trying to see if there was any special tuning that made emissions better and heating up the cat was what made the most noticeable difference.

yes, that's why there's an accelerated warm up system from the factory

Yes, but even with the car running the cat cools down and as such so does its efficiency. The accelerated warm-up I believe is to get a cold cat into operating temperature sooner but doesn't mean its working at its best at that point.
