FD cold start problem

I have a '93 with a base map on the PFC. The car is stock except for efini y-pipe, a catback, and downpipe. I have fresh plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc, and the car has healthy vacuum. Overall the cars runs very well with exception of cold starts. It will start, shoot to approximately 2200-2300 rpm, and then almost immedtely drop to about 1,000 and then die. It will repeat this cycle 2-3 time until it finally can maintain a slightly shakey 1,000 rpm idle. I can manually blip the throttle to prevent it from dying, but it does require a lot of "blips". The warm idle is fine, smooth at 750. Is there anything i can adjust from the commander to improve cold starting, or do I need to get serious about getting a good custom tune? TIA

Maybe the hot wax rod/fast idle cam is not working which increases throttle until the coolant warms up.

Add some fuel in the colder temps on the water temp correction screen. The adjustments would be much easier to determine with a wideband installed.

Not only adjusting the water temp vrs. fuel correction table (settings 2 tab), there is another setting that might be effecting your idle. under setting tab 4, your ignition vrs. water temp sometimes can effect the car. stock setting is 15, try lowering this to something like 5 or 3. see if that helps at all.

Thanks guys, good suggestions, I will check them out. I also found some posts about reducing the settings on the cranking Inj Time table. I have been working under the assumption that car is getting excess fuel on cold start up, and essentially drowning. It's possible I'm actually not getting enough fuel.
