The next release might get the same features you are used to have from MS Office and other enterprise applications. Not sure when i get the license so i might have to turn the features off in the next release, but here is a preview how it will look:
You can set up the toolbars easily with drag and drop of the icons. So you can remove all icons which are not used by the RX7. (Like in Office)

my hp level is currently challenging the max duty cycle from my 850/1600 injectors. the easiest fix would be to run water or water alcohol injection. that would allow me to retune from 11.0 to one to 12.5 to one and bring down my duty cycle to fit my current deliverability. ( i would wire a boost cut relating to any water/alc system failure).
the newest water injection controllers feature a 0-5 volt auxiliary input to tailor delivery. i would like to utilize injector duty cycle to trim delivery as my egts rise w rpm and injector duty cycle more than boost.
i looked in my datalogit logs and couldn't find the raw voltage for injector duty cycle. do you know from what voltage range IDC is derived? i do run an Apexi AVCr and i did hook it to a specific pin out from the Power FC to read IDC. i am sure i could find it and check w my digital multimeter but was wondering if you knew. i am hoping it might be 0-5 as i would rather key my water/alc off IDC than boost.
thank you and looking forward to using your product,

I am currently testing several ways to display the state of the switches. There will be a separate window (docking bar) for the switches as well as the possibility to have the channels and switches in the same window.
I like the idea of an icon in front of the switch name (ok, those are not switches in the screenshot but i'm just testing it right now). The channels are then on top of the list and the switches on the bottom. An other idea would be to have the icons in the "current" column. Or no icon and instead invert the row (black background and white font).
In the separate switch window it will be possible to have multiple columns to save space, like
O STR O AC O PWS
O NTR O NTR O CLT
"Large" icons or small icons?
Let me know if you have any better ideas.

My goal is it to make FC Tune the best software available for tuning standalones.
also, id say go with large icons. . . mostly due to me being a white american. . . you know. . . everythings big to us.

hi guys (and fasthatch)
i received my official datalogit kit yesterday and gave it a run tonight. works ok with fc edit occasionally it dies and i cant connect to the powerfc (using usb dongle converter). when i used fc tune 0.53 i can't connect as there no connect button? from the menus and when i used 0.51 and choose connect nothing happens. i can do "scan" and it took about 2 minutes of processing but returned a 0 byte .dat file. and i still couldn't view any of the maps etc
powerfc is 5.11

Separate channel and switch bar:
For the 'switch bar' i will implement the option to choose the number of columns (1, 2, 4, Autofit).
Other options are icons or inverted cells (black background, white font), abbreviation / description.
If you choose to have the switches in channel bar it will be one switch per row with the description = O STR (Starter Switch)
Each bar can be docked and undocked, if you move one bar over the other you'll also get the option to tab the bars.

Hey FastHatch why don't you head over to Skylinesaustralia.com and start a thread. There are plenty of skyline owners there now with DATAlogit cables and i'm sure most of them would be interested in testing your software.

Actually, the easiest for FastHatch/Andre would be to have his own forum so he doesn't have to post on 3-4 different ones.
Something I've been very slow on doing for him b/c work is driving me nuts.... Apologies.

Hi Fasthatch,
Is it possible for fc edit to run in a similar way to the Power FC Commander, in that it'll tell you the values of various parameters but not log them (apart from peak)? If it is possible, would I then be able to tap in to these outputs with something like a flash app? I'm working on a digital gauge/dashboard app for my in-car pc and this seems the most straightforward way of getting the info from the ecu.
thanks,
Steve

Hello Steve,
please drop me an email (andre at fctune dot com) and we can discuss the interface for a gauge app. I don't think that this is of public interest.

I like the fact that Andre is using C/C++. Porting the app to PocketPC would make things convenient

I queried fasthatch about helping develop this very thing, however I was met with
a lack of cooperation and zero willingness to provide any form of help..

The app you see above will run in full screen mode. The gauges will scale idependantly and you will be able to completely modify the look and feel, gauge parameters etc for your application. There's lots of other features I intend to include. On the comms side of things, I have a number of modules written in Python specifically for data logging and display testing. I'm porting this code to Delphi/Kylix for windows/linux environments. It will be open source if you are willing to hang on.. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

FastHatch,
Have just read the whole thread and could not see if the Toyota MR2 SW20(AP Engineering version) is supported?
Keep up the great work!!!!

How hard would it be to implement a feature to compare 2 maps from the same car. Open one DAT file then select "compare" which would let use choose a second DAT file, a third DAT file would then be generated with the maps showing the differences between the first two files.
Say your getting the car tuned, you can make a copy of the tune before and after and compare what changes were made buy the shop you were paying to do the work.
