I'm not concerned with PCB pricing, they're always more than happy to give students free boards. Boxes and cables cost next to nothing. On his site he sounds as if he is interested in having people make their own adapters, so I figure it's worth a shot to see if he'll give me his PIC code (or sell it to me). I'm not talking about doing this on a production scale, I'm talking about making myself one.

I can assemble my own board, but I'll probably ask you for help getting a circuit board printed and the PIC programmed. I'm sure you won't have a problem doing that on a small scale, if the PIC becomes available to you?

I didn't get an email back from Kashi yet, but Andre tells me Kashi has been asked for the code before and he is not interested in sharing it. So no go on that. If I figure something out (I've got another converter that cost me $70 that I'm going to test) I'll update. Right now waiting for fasthatch's box is the best option.

Some infos about the PFC and the new FC Commander Pro software.
The cable/dongle shipped with the FC Commander Pro software is not just a passive cable, it manipulates the data to ensure the cable can not be used with the FC Pro (Power Excel) software. The FC Pro software will refuse the data because it is invalid.
FC Pro, FC Commander Pro and FC Edit can only be used with it's own adapter. FC Tune is now tested with every adaper including Kashis box.
Some infos about the history of the PFC:
The first PFCs only have an interface for the Commander, only the settings that can be displayed/changed with the Commander can be read from or written to the PFC. These PFCs are not supported by the FC Pro or FC Commander Pro software. An other limitation of the 1st generation PFCs is that the data is written back in a different way than read. That means it is possible to read a map with 4 commands, but 400 commands are necessary to write a map because each cell have to be written separately.
In the next step an interface for the FC Pro software was added before in a third step a new generic interface for the "X" Commander was added.
For some settings there are 4 different ways to read and write them. Therefore FC Tune has to know how to talk to each PFC version. I know the interface of 100 different yet, i guess at least 200 or 300 exist, maybe more.

I also think launch control relative to vehicle speed would be perfect. With the ability to set up the speed where the launch control is disabled and the rev limiter for the launch control,of course.
For the type K thermocouple input,I've seen that Omega has posted a link to temp vs voltage tables.
I send you an email with a .dat file of my Pulsar GTIR Power FC maps within 5 minute.
Any idea for the release of the new version with map watch mode and analog inputs?
(and the ability to be used on RNN14 GTIRs!! lol )

Please let me know what you think about my ideas for the user interface.
First the possibility to open multiple files. A tab is displayed for each file on top of the workspace. I will not display the windows of different files on the same workspace because i'm sure that this would be error prone as well as other difficulties. Multiple file support, yes or no?
I am also working on the 2d graphs for the maps now. I have added tabs to the map windows to switch between the views. I am debating (with myself) if it might be useful to view at the table and 2d (and 3d later) view at the same time. An other idea might be a splitted window with the table on the left and a graph on the right. Also do you prefer the tabs or icons in the toolbar to switch between the views?

looks good andre, mutliple file support is helpful when comparing ignition tables etc
2d graphs im not so sure on, would have to see it to be able to comment or try and use it a little but sounds good

I like the tabs as opposed to buttons since theyre right there in the workspace for fast switching. I think it might be helpful to have both the table and 2/3D graph displayed at the same time especially if it would be possible to implement some kind of system where when you select a range of cells in the table that same area is somehow highlighted on the 2/3D graph so you can see it with both displays. Dunno if thats possible just throwing out ideas. Really cool to see how much progress has been made with Tune btw just looking at the screens from not too long ago, keep up the hard work!

It looks good but I think you may add opening multiple file function for "Map watch" to anaylse the logs. I think analysing the logs is very important during the tuning session so an interface look like this may help a lot. You may develop this feature with 3D analysing graphics in the future.
Here what I'm talking about:

FastHatch, in your other thread you posted
Would it then be possible to add another map, a target AFR set by the user, to use against that recalc, so that it doesn't reset all of it to 1.000?
The FC Datalogit software has the recalc base feature which adds the fuel correction to the base fuel map and then reset all values of the correction map to 1.000

Why not simply set the section of the map you don't want to recalc to 1.
Then once you have done the recalc copy back the values for the section of the map you set to 1.
FASTHATCH, she looks like she's really coming together. Looks awesome.
