I have downloaded the last version for the beige box. When i open it up, it has everything filled out on all the pages. My apex PFC is the last version so it has a better map built in then the older PFC's. Not sure if the FC edit info are the same that is stored in the PFC. When i hook it up for the first time, do i need to over-write it first, so i don't loose my base map that came with the PFC? I know i need to make some changes with my injectors and map sensor, but i want to make sure i have the correct base map to start off with.

How do i load the info from the PFC to the FC edit. Will all the info i have on the PFC (base map) automativcally over write the dataloggit FC edit info when i hook them together for the first time?

Having said that. when you connect your pfc/datalogit to your laptop in the car, with everything running, you simply hit the button marked "read all" on the fc edit program, then save this file on your pc WITH A NEW NAME. Now you will have a copy of the map that was in the car when you started that you can always revert to if necessary.

If you have a map you want to load from your pc to the pfc/datalogit, simply pull up (open) that map while hooked up to the car and running, and hit the button marked "write all" and that map will be downloaded to the pfc from the computer.
(I recommend always turning the car off, starting it again, and checking to see indeed the map downloaded correctly)
From your questions (if I understood correctly), I would recommend a lot more research and reading before proceding.

 

The engine does not need to be running to read-all and best not to use write-all when the engine is running. Only the ignition needs to be turned on. If the engine is running, best to use UPDATE to make PDC map changes while driving.
