From page 16 of the users guide http://www.mr-s.org/copilot/Copilot_2_0_8.doc :
"Copilot currently supports just the 1ZZ-FE [MR2/Corolla/Celica GT] and 2ZZ-GE [Celica GTS] engines and there are no plans to support others."

page 1, post 1
Platforms/Engines Supported:
1ZZ-FE, 2ZZ-GE, 3S-GTE (limited functionality for 3S-GTE at present), 3S-GE (also incomplete, but it does have dual VVT), 2JZ-GTE1 (limited), EJ20K (limited), RB25DET (limited), 13B-REW (very limited)
I will download it and try it out.

Thanks a lot Banzai..
Seems this software ahs been arounf for some time but obviously nobody picked it up yet.
Seems it isn't really Apexi software but more of a project like datalogit?

i have had a play with it, it gets regular updates!
but will only work with the datalogit cables, and some of the different biege/black boxes seam to cause the odd conflict.
its not the real apexi software (i have this myself) it was a project that went open source

so how has it worked for you? Was it any help? Or did you use the Excell file on the Datalogit file to correct AFR's yourself ?
Did you tou start of a rich map and let the programm tune it leaner or did you start of the base map?
I think I'm going to do some log runs, makes a fuel map withthe Datalogit Excell file and compare it to what this software calculates

Maybe some of the knowledgeable people (tuning wise) could contact this guy to give him some pointers on the 13B as tuning it has some particular differences compared to piston engines.
He's offering this for free so that's the least we can do

i havent tested it on the car yet, but was just playing around looking through the software. It looks well developed and has alot of extra features beyond FC edit. Some of the common menu's are a little clumsy but considering all the extra features i dont think this can be avoided.
When i loaded the 13b rew map into Copilot, the base map, inj map, and most all the small settings took immediate effect. A few things i noticed that might be issues:
The ignition map did not take effect, it stayed at whatever map was originally loaded into the software. And Unfortunately it doesnt seem to allow direct pasting from FC edit, excel, etc. BUT, "maybe" an excel file can be imported directly into the ignition map area, I haven't looked into this specifically but saw some area where you could "export pfc files into excel workshop". If that doesnt work we may be stuck doing it manually one cell at a time which would suck.
Second issue. the Injector sizing is not setup for rotaries. There is no way to properly setup the injectors using the current version of this program. Maybe we can make the changes using FC edit and then when we run this program it will leave them be. In this case it will be fine. But if it decides to change them for us to the default Copilot injectors, we will have major issues.
Last issue: It seems the program has settings for MAFS but not MAP Sensor, this may not be an issue provided we can still use the commander or FC edit to set the scale and offset for the MAPS. So its the same as the injectors, if the programs tries to F with our settings we will be F'ed with our car running like F'ing ***. If it leaves them be, it will be fine.

"Major problem gumming up the works: I get an "Out of memory" error when I try to compile Copilot. I had added some controls and code and am trying to take things away now (nonessential stuff like 13B-REW support, since I never finished that). But right now I kind of screwed."
"h. Removed 13B-REW support, which was very sketchy, to deal with "Out of memory" problem."
So it seems in version 3.2.2 he removed support for our cars. Latest version is 3.2.4. Maybe someone smart can get version 3.3.1 and finish the coding for our cars while resolving the bugs he was apparently having.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS!
Please DO NOT test that application on your cars! I've got the source code to it and trust me, its poooooorly written, very very very badly written. I wouldn't trust this project on a pos in a junkyard. I dont care what the reviews says - this is a junk application, BADLY written.
For the programmers out there, He's using a lot of "on error resume next" statements in his code to simply bypass or skip-over any errors he didn't code for (in terms of trapping). Trust me guys, this is pure **** at its finest.
I've done a lot of ECU development on AEM & Wolf3D, I've seen a lot of projects come and go but this one looks like it'll be around for a min but purely junk.
caveat ēmptor
