fan question....searched

I think the fans in my fd are set to come on at waaaaaay to high a temperature. I can't seem to find the settings on the commander though. the pfc came with my 7 so it didn't come with the manual. I did read apexi's version on the web but still couldn't find it.... so how do I change those pesky temperature settings?

You need a datalogit to change the fan settings.

So for now, do the FAN MOD SWITCH mod.

If you car had the cooling system recall, then on the back of the ECU was a little black box. It has a wire coming off it with an insulated female spade connector, but not used.

You run this to a switch to ground. This turns the fans on just as if the car had a water temp overheat problem. If turned on for over 2 minutes before turning the engine off, the fans will stay on for 10 minutes to cool down the engine.

Search on it!

I have the DATALOGIT and my fans at 86/86/88 and I have the switch.
Still use the FMS for extra cooling if racing in the heat as it kicks up the fan speed also.
