Extra Safe Map

Heres a map I made by combining the base stock and the base mod maps. It uses the least advanced numbers from the two maps for each of it's values. It probably wont make as much power as some of the other maps, but it hopefully will prevent you from blowing up your motor until you take it to get properly tuned. I also adjusted the timing split a bit here and there.

Extra Safe PFC Map

Thanks for sharing your PFC map with us.

I'm curious about your use of the term "extra safe" to describe the map you created from the base stock and base mod maps. Is it your belief that the base stock map is too advanced and could result in engine problems if used as originally published?

It seems that most of the PFCs have been coming with the BaseMod set of maps lately, not the BaseStock. There has been alot of discusion about the timing being too advanced on some parts of the maps, especialy the BaseMod. If you were to compare the safemap I made to the BaseMod and the BaseStock maps, you would see that the safemap has no IGL values higher than either map in any cell. Where as both the BaseMod and Basestock maps are more advanced than each other at different points. For example, the Basemod is more advanced at N06,P13 with a value of 11 where the BaseStock has a value of 5, but at N16,p17 BaseStock is more advanced with a value of 19 where BaseMod has a value of 11. My Safemap has the lower of the two values (5 and 11, respectively) at each point. Hope this helps.

Extra Safe Map

To FD Racer,

What mods do you have on your car?

Are you currently running your extra safe map in your FD and if so, for how long?

How is your car performing running on your extra safe map?

My mods are listed below.

Yes i'm using the safe map, for about a week now.
It's running rich, but running well. I have taken fuel out fuel via PIM V rpm to make it a little less rich. I have other issues to attend to before I get around to taking my car to get properly tuned, like getting a twin power and dealing with my fuel pressure which is too high I think, maybe a new intercooler too.
