The problem is that the EGT stays on constantly while I'm driving, though it's only on when I have the driving lights on!!! During the day when my lights are off, all is fine.

what sensor would be affected by the driving lights??

I do not know of any EGT light for the car. Do you mean cat over heat light? The sensor for that is not on the cat. I would assume that it is somewhere above that area under the thermo aluminum shield.

 

yeh, sorry, that's the light I'm on about. Will see if it has resolved itself tonight.
