even if i hot wired it ?

no seriously I could if I really wanted to haha .

Not to jack my own thread or anything .. BUT if I were to get a power FC w/o the commander could I hook it up to a PC in order to upload maps ? how would that work? or do i NEED a commander in order to tune the power FC ?

Also what of a Power FC from a diff car with the same kind of plug ? if you install maps for the FD on lets say a skyline powerfc would it work? or is that a no go?

in order to load maps and tune without a commander, you'll need a datalogit.... OR Apexi now sells their own tuning software with all PFCs now

You do not want to tune from the commander. It is a great monitoring device and can be used for small changes in idle, but for any real tuning or loading maps a dataogit is a must have.

PFC are vehicle specific, you cannot install a skyline unit in an FD.

The Commanders are universal now, but the ECU boxes are model-specific.
