Datalogit monitoring slow?

Sorry for my ignorance.... its been a while since I purchased the datalogit and I can't find any of the original paperwork, manual, or cd.

How fast is this program suppose to monitor? I just got around to plugging mine in & I added a watch or two. It seems like the response is a second behind. If I blip the throttle it looks like almost nothing happens.

Also will it monitor without starting a log?

Search the stickies for the manual (may or maynot be there), or if you were the original buyer, go to the DL yahoo group and download the manual and latest software. The universal software records the fastest.

As far as log rates, search on my name for info about that.
Laptop setup and what you records affects it.

It depends on what you are asking. Monitoring with the commander or the mionitor screen?:

Thanks for the response

Yeah I was searching around on the forum... the only link I found for the manual was dead. I did however find the software. I installed 2.52? I think that was the latest off the forum. It was weird though because it was only the EXE file. So I ran the Setup from some older version and the EXE from 2.52 runs.

I was going to join the group but it just seems like a process. They want $20 then they take like weeks to get back to you? I had a long trip I was going to take the car on next weekend & thought what a perfect time to monitor the car.

I will search for posts under your name to see if I can dig anything up.

My laptop shouldn't be an issue. Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz - 2GB ram.

I did have the commander screen up too, but I was talking about all the watches in FC-Edit. I set up a few watches on the laptop & it seems laggy. Much slower then the response on the commander screen, that seems realtime to me.

It all depends on what you use and how you do it.
Since the monitor screen has all and is the base screen for monitoring, anything
after it or redundant is a WASTE and hurts performance.

I only use watches in conjuntion with charts when doing log analysis.
