car wont start-NEED HELP

I will start off saying that I made a mistake by adding too many mods at once. However, I have read the power FC manual at least 4x's along with those notes posted on how to install and tune the PFC. I properly changed all the injector settings and lag times. Here is a list of my mods

aggressive street port (new rotor housings)
T04Z turbo kit
Full fuel system with 850/1680 injectors (all top feed)
Sard FPR
datalogit

and everything else necessary for a single turbo upgrade. (all of these were added at the same time.---I know know it was a bad idea)

Today we tried starting it, and it cranks but it wont even sputter. We checked every spark plug and all are good. Fuel is present as well. I pulled a plug out and there is definately fuel but there wasn't much on the plug, there was more vapor than anything. We tried putting a tablespoon of ATF in each rotor housing to bring the compression up but we are still not even close to getting combustion. I am running 10ohm resistors on all of my injector clips.

Q1. MY FPR is set so that the regulating screw is pretty far down so is it possible that I have completely cut off too much fuel flow to the fuel rails?

Q2. Are there any settings on FCedit i need to change to compensate for the resistors?

I have read all I can on this subject and I am out of places to look. PLEASE HELP

Doing many mods at once is not bad unless you do not know what you are doing.

Have you set your 0 vacuum/psi fuel pressure to Mazda standards or a little higher? Do you know what it is? One of the first steps before even trying to start a new engine. You normaly set it while the engine is idling.

No problem with resistors, but the injectors need to be set up properly.

And 850 primaries require special treatment as they will run rich if setup strictly by the PFC manual.

Search about my tuning notes.

I personaly havent done much. I took it to a local shop, they are not a rotory shop but have worked on a few. The guys seems to know what he is doing for the most part, however we are running into this starting problem.

I will ask them about this. Thanks for your help.

After priming the fuel pump, the FPR was only reading about 4.7 kg/cm^3. I believe that it is supposed to be between 5.5-7, Correct me if I am wrong. We also took out one of the plugs and the plug was not even damp. So I am thinking I have a defective FPR. I am going to install an Aeromotive tomorrow to see if anything changes.

You still have it wrong. The Mazda manual tells the correct values.
Mazda value for fuel pressure 38psi at 0 boost = 2.67 Kg/Ccm^2.
Many use 40 psi at 0 boost = 2.81 Kg/Ccm^2.

Make sure your mechanic hooked up the FPR correctly and that fuel is actually flowing through it.

"I am running 10ohm resistors on all of my injector clips."

On your primaries too? The primaries don't need resistors when using 850s.

Steve

edit: Sorry, just read you're using top feeds. Ignore me!

ok, so yesterday we changed the fuel pressure to 2.8 kg/cm^2. tried cranking it over and it wasnt any closer to starting. But once again I pulled one of the plugs and there was still no fuel. I dont get it. brand new lines, brand new rail, brand new injectors. The only thing I can think of is that I either have a bumb PFC or the harness is junk. But the guy I bought the harness from (member here with a great reputation) said that it was working perfectly on his car. I think some time this week the shop is going to run a multimeter through it to make sure the current is going all the way through. I am just frustrated!

ohh We also pulled the return line off of the PFR and found the gas is cycling. So comon sense would tell me that somthing is going on with the injectors, harness, or PFC.
