It would be an extremely stupid device if it did!

Does your cell phone loose your numbers when you turn it off? Same logic.

I did search...... Why don't you try searching and see what you find out before you start making comments. Alot of threads (including the PFC manual) talk about losing your data. And on here I found a ton of threads saying to use datalogic and save your info on the laptop. Since there is no shop anywhere near me, it's way better safe than broke down. If answering questions by a new guy are a problem please don't answer.

As I said before, this engine/setup is very new to me so please be patient and understanding. Remember, you all were new once too . One reason we see more and more of these cars getting scrapped is because there is not much information out there on them. And 2nd, there are not that many shops that will touch them(and have a clue what they are doing.)

Put yourself in my shoes, I bought this car that everyone said is the most unrealiable thing built and I'll go through 10 expensive engines in 5 years. So I read and read and read and try to learn everything I can and then I join some forums. And when I ask questions there's always one guy that has some smart comment. Some of the things us new guys ask we probably already know, but the "unreliable" stamp that our cars have make us take a step back and just double check. Don't want that engine to go "POP."

Thanks again for the quick responses.

I never have lost data in my PFC and I was one of the early ones to get it back in 1999.
Data lost is 99.99% caused by human error. Keeping a backup is a safety factor incase you screw-up you loaded map.

The hardware/software is more realiable than the operator.

Thanks for the replies, I need to unplug it in order to do some more customizing of the switches. I'll post some pictures by the end of this week. It's turning out very nicely.
