Can a Power FC control boost?

Just a simple question, I'm going to purchase a Power FC but i need a boost controller to fix my boost spike.....is there some sort of add-on for the PowerFC to control boost as well? if so...would i be better off just buying a separate boost controller? thanks!

The PowerFC has a built-in boost control system for the stock sequential turbo system. It is not as sophisticated as most add-on electronic boost controllers are, but it is designed specifically to work with the sequential turbo system. My advice is to get the PowerFC, give an honest try to playing with the settings to control your boost, and only after that effort consider a separate controller if you are still having issues. In my opinion, the less gadgets and add-on boxes you can run your car with, the better. The PowerFC alone should be enough for what you want.

There is also a "boost control kit" add-on specifically for the PowerFC. But I think it is primarily for single turbo conversions.

Reading about how to set up the boost for the sequential system, first you have to set the boost, then a second controller for pre-spool.

If you change the boost itself, its effect on the pre-spool and vice versa are rather complex and hard to predict if you want to avoid bog, or worse, a spike.

How is the PowerFC going to handle that?

I believe the PFC accomplishes this in the same manner as the stock ecu by controlling the duty cycles of the solenoids. With the PFC you set the duty cycle percentages for both the primary and secondary turbo.

Is that going to be as safe, exact, responsive and reliable as if you got out the mechanical controllers and spiced them into vacuum lines?

I am not certain what you are asking, do you mean does the PFC control boost as well as a mechanical boost control?

I have had both a manual boost controller and tha PFC, I have had very successful results withe the PFC even with a midpipe, others have not. I used the PFC on 2 different FDs with the same success.

I have since switched to a single setup and have attempted to use the solenoid from the Apex Boost Control Kit but experienced oscillations in my boost.

As Max stated, if you have a PFC, give its boost control feature a shot, just set your duty cycles very low and gradually increase them until you reach the boost level you want.

Hate to bring back a semi dead topic, but I had a question on this. When using the PFC to control boost via the duty cycle settings can I remove all restriction in the wastegate and precontrol lines (Pills or manual boost controllers)?
