Can PFC tame sequential transition boost spike?
When I just had a 3" downpipe, I had a perfect boost pattern of 10-8-10. When I installed the RB catback, I began getting a boost spike to 12psi or so at transition. Now with a Bonez high-flow cat, spikes are 13-14 psi. No boost creep though.
I'm planning on getting a PFC soon. I already have a Datalogit, but am waiting for my user group join request to be processed. Can the sequential transition boost spike be tamed or eliminated soley with PFC/Datalogit settings?
thanks in advance,
Ken
P.S. How long to Datalogit "join" requests take?

First off, if you're spiking THAT much on a stock ECU, you're lucky you still have a motor!
The big problem is the stock ECU's boost control just doesn't work properly when you open up exhaust/intake. It's preprogrammed around stock parameters, and when you change them things go nuts. That's why a boost controller is a VERY good early mod.
The PowerFC does have control over the stock boost control system, and it works well enough to keep things ironed out. On my car, after I installed the high-flow cat (I've got intake, downpipe, highflow cat, and cat-back) I had to drill the primary turbo's restrictor pill out just a hair to keep primary turbo spiking at part throttle in check. That's keeping things reasonable until I get a good boost controller.
