base powerfc igntiming maps?

I just bought a fd with a 97 spec motor and power fc but it doesnt run right. It runs really rich. I looked at the ignition timing map for the trailing and leading they were set -25 all around. I'm wondering could this cause my primary not boost or stuttering when I get on the throttle? Should I just reinitialize all the data on the powerfc and just run the stock map? The car ran fine when i drove it 700 miles and I got about 24mpg or so.

It could not even run with the timing you mentioned.
How did you view this all -25 timing?

I have no idea. the previous owner said it was tuned by some place but i forgot the name. Maybe its a security feature to not show the tune? I already resetted the pfc and it seems to run a little better. Still no boost but at least it feels a tad bit smoother.

hey it's john, I forgot to tell you about this, the reason why it displays the -25 all over the map is because the previous tuner locked it so no one will know their style of tuning (japanese tuners). It was done by R magic. I took it to another shop and they said they can actually unlock this so u can view the maps. I dont think you should change it though anyway since it's running the car safely with it's modifications. I guess you wont find out until you blow the motor and learn how sensitive they are. You boost problems is more likely from the control system not to ECU.
