Hmm.. That original link:

http://www.rx7store.net/powerfc.pdf

Is not working any more. Anyone care to email me the commander manual pdf, if you happen to have it?

Thanks!

The thread seems to be looking for a PFC manual----Not the Commander manual which is currently available at about a gazillion sites.

You can download the PowerFC manual (not the commander) straight from the source: http://www.apexi-usa.com

Click on the "Documentation" link, then scroll down to PowerFC.

Here's the direct link: http://www.apexi-usa.com/productdocu...on/powerFC.pdf

EXCEPT for two things

1. The manual is for a CIVIC!
2. It is just the installation manual

1. Doesn't matter.
2. That's all that's required. What exactly are you going to do with the PFC without the Commander?

You are correct that the manual is for a civic. I think the only differences are:

1) On page 2, the diagram of the harness connector is for a civic, and there is a comment about only 3 out of the 4 connectors being used. Of course, on an FD, all the connectors are used, and the sticky at the top of the forum tells you which wires to cut.

2) The diagram of the ECU location on page 8 is obviously wrong (ECU is on passenger's side for an FD).

3) I'm not sure about this but does the RX-7 idle learning procedure include turning on/off fog or headlights? The japanese version posted above shows icons of lights being turned on/off in the idle learning section.

Are you guys absolutely sure that the installation manual and the commander manual are the only manuals for Power FC ECUs? It seems to me I saw a very detailed manual for the the Power FC.

You might be right, but I thought PowerFCs were meant to be tuned by Power Excel shops, which is why the manual is so sparse. Aside from installation, I don't think the end user is supposed to do much else.

Maybe they have a special manual for these Excel tuners?

Yup, that's the one. It has extremely detailed information about the capabilities of the PFC along with some VERY interesting discussions of the parameters that NEED to be addressed. If I can remember where I saw it, I would get a copy for myself. Datalogits provide access to everything but I think it would be nice to know what Apexi had in mind.

You can find the diagram in the PowerFC FAQ PDF created by Dale Clark on page 10.

Here's the link to the thread (very useful): New version of PowerFC FAQ posted - please sticky!
