Running way To Rich...excessive flooding
Hey Boys...
My car is running so rich that every time i shut it off (if i can get it to run in the first place) it will not restart. Can someone please instruct me on how to lean it out. can i just take some fuel out of the injector map?
relevant mods:
Large streetport
Pettit Large SMIC
M2 Cold air Intake
DP, Mid pipe, Cat back
upgraded fuel pump
i am running stock twins with stock injectors
12 lbs on setting 1
14lbs on setting 2
thx

First verify that your fuel pressure is in range of 38-40psi at 0 psi vacuum/boost.
Read the PFC manual, you SHOULD determine from there what to do.
Where did you PFC maps come from?
It could be leaking injectors if it is that rich.

maps came from Adam Heyman @ rx7 specialties here in Calgary Alberta.
he is a well known builder and has used these maps for many cars with the same mods.
how can i test the injectors for leaks?
injector duty on the pfc commander stays @ .6% after trying to crank the car over. this would seem to indicate that one of the injectors is sticking. wouldnt it?

Ever consider that you have a blown motor - ie: low compression? I wouldn't be wasting your time checking for leaky injectors. I find it interesting that you are looking for assistance here when you should be getting service and correct answers from your builder/tuner. Everything you are posting is indicative of an engine with low compression (ie: blown) God how this brings back memories.......none of them good. Don't say you weren't warned. No malice intended. If you still need help I know some guys who actually know what they are doing. Good luck.
The duty cycle the PFC reports is what the injectors should be doing, not what they are doing.
Did the car do this before putting the map in? Because your tuner shouldn't have even really touched the start, idle, and cruise sections of the map. Either your car has a mechanical problem or the map in the PFC is VERY wrong.
