adhesive/velcro on commander= damage?

hi all,

just wondering if anyone has cosmetically damaged their commander when removing adhesive from a velcro?

i was currently using a universal holder attached to the vent and decided to relocate the commander to a different location. i used velcro to stick it on to this new location. im just wondering if i decide to remove the velcro off the commander in the future, you think it would damage the black plastic in any way?

i decided to change the location mainly because the universal holder looked so tacky for me. the commander sticking on by itself with no view of what's holding it up looks so clean.

thanks for looking,
chris

Shouldn't. I've used Velcro or double-sided tape to attach a number of different things in the car over time. After you remove the velcro, just use some Goo-Gone and a rag to get rid of the leftover adhesive. Works like a champ and looks brand new.

thanks for the info.

yea goo gone does wonders when removig the sticky adhesive. i just hope that the adhesive doesn't take any of the black plastic with it.

Since is molded black plastic, not painted black plastic, it wont hurt a thing.

I wouldn't use acetone on it, but alcohol & goo gone should be fine.

Keep it off the clear face
