Porting Templates
Keep forgetting to call the CNC lasercutting shop to see if the -REW templates are done yet. They are not good about telling me when they finish a project and I no longer live 5 minutes away from them, so I can't just drop by on my way to work like I used to. Up to my eyeballs just trying to keep on top of everything else. Excuses, excuses. Sorry.
As for the port timing question...mmmm, I don't really plan on providing timing specs, but it would be easy for the end-user to figure it out with a partial engine assembly (side housing, stationary gear, rotor housing, rotor and E-shaft. Just scribe the port shape on the housing, turn the e-shaft and measure the angle of the rotor journal, then account for the 3:1 gear reduction).

No.. actually I need the 6-port template. Guess I didn't realize it was still in CAD.
The post is a little old, figured that by now..... Hehe. Not raggin on ya man. Keep up the great work.

I finally got around to calling the CNC lasercutting shop...the parts (templates and other jobs) were done quite a while ago. Apparently, they tried to call us on the main phone line, which is virtually always tied up by customers, and didn't remember to use our "back door" line for vendors. Guess they forgot my email address too. Anyway, they are delivering it all to me tomorrow. These are the 13B-REW FD templates. If they turned out good, I will prep the other templates for production and get them started on those. Probably all at once, if these REW templates turn out okay.
The 13B-REW small streetport templates are here, finally. I just checked them on some side housings and they are perfect. The difference between these and my earlier prototype is that I mirrored the Primary and Secondary ports, so you don't have to flip the template over. While it's not such a big deal with thin stainless that is CNC cut, the thicker aluminum templates that you must grind out yourself are rarely the same front and back because it's hard to grind exactly perpendicular all the way through. I just mirrored them here because the stainless steel has a nicer looking "A" side and a dull, scratchy "B" side.
Don't be fooled by the size of the template ports. There is a lot of potenial in a small streetport and virtually no compromises to streetability, idle quality or emissions. We will make a larger one later.
Still don't have exhaust templates done yet. That will come after I get the other intake templates going. They are all drawn up in CAD and all I have to do are the finishing touches, like mirror the ports and add the logo.
Intake porting templates will run $35 each. I can start taking orders immediately for the REW templates. I only made ten, initially, just to be sure they were correct. Now that I know, I can just have them blasted out.

Okay, guys, I finally put the 13B-REW small streetport templates up on the web site.

I will try to find time to finish up the rest of the porting template files either this afternoon or tomorrow. No promises, but I will try. I am very happy with how the first batch came out, so I am more willing to jump into the others head-first.

UPDATE: We have been working on the exhaust templates, trying to make it foolproof for the DIYer. Hope to have something in a week or so, at least a prototype to prove the concept. Shouldn't take long after that. Almost ready to send the rest of the intake porting templates, too.
Received my template today all I have to say is top notch. I basically bought the template to compare to my streetports that I do. I really like the template and the fact that the ports are already cut for you is a plus. Great job on this product I am very satisfied.
I found some time and knocked out final drawings for TurboII and 6-port NA streetport intakes. The TII porting template is more agressive than the -REW template, because it was based on a motor we happened to be building at the time. I started working on a larger -REW template, but it is not done yet. I am sending the files to the CNC laser cutting shop today. I will continue to work on the -REW intake and figure out something for the exhaust templates.
