We are putting the final touches on an Overhaul kit and Instructional DVD for the Mechanical-style Oil Metering Pump, found on all RX-7s prior to 1989 (at which time Mazda turned to an electronic OMP).

Overhauling the OMP solves the seepage from the body and shaft of the OMP that is nearly universal on older cars. If you have a caked-on sludge of oil and dirt around your OMP, you should overhaul it! It only takes about 15 minutes and is really easy to do with basic hand tools, using this kit and DVD. The parts and proceedure are the same for the 2-channel (12A) and later 4-channel (13B) mechanical OMPs. The DVD walks you through the proceedure step-by-step, so you won't have any suprises.
