Cool. Works for me

Not sure what to say. I made ten bumper hitches but there has not been a lot of response. Kind of on the back burner. Need one?
Well, I don't NEED one right now, but I will before spring...
Me and a few of the other guys in the forum somehow missed the thread, until Alvin(Zyrano) found it...

But I did have a couple questions:
How much weight can the thing haul?
Does the new bumper have any "give" or is it completely rigid?

Also, you may want to contact Zyrano and Lt. Dan as they seemed quite interested as well.

Haven't done anything there, yet. Very busy preparing for SEMA.
NP, as I told you before, I won't need it until early spring
Just wondering...

I addressed your questions in the other thread, to keep this one on-track.

Frankly, there is nothing wrong with the flat tensioner. It's quicker and easier to tension the alternator belt, but less precise. It also contributes to rigidity more than the turnbuckle tensioner. So the turnbuckle one is mostly for looks and, to a lesser degree, for ultra precise belt tensioning. As the flat tensioner is included in the price, I would suggest you try it before upgrading the the turnbuckle tensioner. You will probably decide it's good enough. (Can you tell I don't like making the turnbuckle tensioners?)

what about the fact you don't have to pry on the alternator to get the tensions needed for the belt.... all you gotta do w/ the turnbuckle is keep spinning... it'll get tight enough... or fall off

once I get payment figured out, I'll be getting the regular bracket and tensioner; which seeing as my car is an S5; the total would be $75.70 for the extra $3 spacer, correct?

Yes, unless you can find a stock S4 spacer (10mm).

The brackets and tensioners are back from powdercoating! All I have left is to make the 3/8" frontcover spacers, which should only take an hour or two on the lathe. I should be ready to ship all orders by Friday, at the very latest, provided payment is received. If you are not prepared to pay the balance right now, you will have a couple weeks before you lose your spot. Orders will ship individually, as payment comes in, so you won't be waiting on anyone else.

I'm working on totals for everyone and will email them to the address from which you Paypal'd the money. In your case, it's $14.25 via Airmail Parcel Post or $18.25 via EMS.

I only have three turnbuckle tensioners and one of those is not up to my standards -- sorry, I just now pulled them out of the box and noticed. There are four people who requested them, so the first two will get them for sure (Mark and Charn). The third (Josh) can have the 2nd for $10, if he want's it. Spencer is the odd man out (sorry, I mis-counted earlier). I will go see my CNC guy today and see what he can knock out and how soon. Regardless, the kits come with a flat tensioner, so I can still ship those orders and we can do the turnbuckle tensioners later, if you still want them. Or, I can hold the whole order and ship it together when the turnbuckles are ready.

BTW, does anyone mind Socket Head Cap Screws for the fasteners? These are the higher quality ones with the "internal wrenching" hex (allen head). All it means is that you will need 6mm, 8mm and 10mm allen wrenches. You'd need the 6mm anyway for the tensioners, but the 8mm and 10mm are for the M10x1.25 and M12x1.50 fasteners, respectively. I do have a few of the regular hex-heads, so I can send you those if it's a real problem, but the socket heads are what I was planning to send. I can get more of the hex heads, as well, but I have to order them in quantities of 50.

Sorry if I seem to not have my **** together...the SEMA show in Las Vegas is coming up next week, so I'm struggling to get prepared for the week-long trip.

I have no problem with hex key heads... Will I still get my tensioner for the $25 price?

And Since I'm in no rush, I can wait for the tensioner. I don't actually need this until spring...

Yes, the new turnbuckle tensioners will be $25 each. I made a deal with a machinist this morning and will take him the material later today. He's already working on the front cover spacers, which will be ready tomorrow. Hopefully, he can knock out a few turnbuckles by Monday or early Tuesday, before I leave for Vegas.

Any paid orders will ship on Friday. I will also ship Monday and possibly Tuesday, before my flight.

Four orders are Paid in Full and should ship today, provided those front cover spacers get here as promised. The paid orders are:

(1) Mark in Glencoe, IL
(2) David in Pleasonton, CA
(4) Charn in Ontario, Canada
(9) Ben in North Pole, AK

If I get more payments, I can ship right up until I leave for Vegas on Tuesday evening. Anything after that will wait until the following Monday.

Okay, my new machininst flaked out, so I had to make the damn spacers myself. Sorry for the delay. All 5 paid orders are shipped as of 30 minutes ago. Five are still awaiting payment before shipping. If anyone else wants in on the GB, make sure you let me know. If I don't see continuing interest, I will close down the GB and only sell them retail.

I'm leaving for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas in about 90 minutes and won't be back until Monday.

SleaperFC just reminded me to note that the alternator needs to be grounded to the block. Because the bracket is powdercoated, you need to sand off a little of the coating in the appropriate places (e.g. on the face of a bolt hole and the back side of the alternator mounting boss) or run a ground strap. Sorry I forgot to mention that earlier. What is obvious to me is not always obvious to everyone else...D'oh!

Leaving in 15 minutes...adios.

Belts - What I used...

Going off of what dDub said I went to Autozone and they did not sell the Gates brand.

So, I cross referenced it with what they did sell.

It ended up being a Goodyear Gatorback belt. Part number 15382 (Gates 7375).

They were 12 bucks a piece and work great!

The weird thing on my alternator bracket install was I had to use the two silver spacers for the 17mm bolts that went into the front cover.
