Powdercoating or NOT?
I've heard that powdercoating would hinder cooling. I realize that not much cooling would be provided by the pan, but the question is, does the black powdercoating help or hinder any additional cooling?
If it doesn't help cooling, I'd be up for a cheaper faster delivery pan without the coating!

Powdercoating, however, is not the holdup. I was told the mold needed to be "fixed" and that the guy responsible (Rich @ Xcessive) seems to think that that can wait until he is back from vacation. I don't even know how long he will be gone. A week? Two weeks? No idea. And how long will it take to fix? When can the foundary get around to doing another pour after that? How long will it take Rich to get around to machining the cast pans and get them to powdercoating? Again, I have no idea at this point. I will not comment on timeframe again until Rich actually delivers the pans physically. I don't like being in the position of repeating excuses. They will be here when they get here, whenever that may be. Sorry guys.
Blake , two things ...firstly , I am interested in an FD pan too, I sent you a pm and secondly ..can I use the other companies oil pan brace with your oil pan for even better strength (if thats possible !) ?
Hey is it possible to get an FD pan, but without the engine mount holes drilled?
everything else as it comes is fine.
And will it clear the FC steering rack?
This is for a 13b RE with rew front cover and accessories in an FC.

I need to use the FD ignition pickup which is on the front cover.
Why would I need an FD subframe, for clearence?
I am using RE irons, so mounting isn't an issue.

I have a used Pineapple FC oilpan with all the included hardware and baffle plate. The pan is in excellant condition excluding a few minor scratches on the powder-coated surface.
$250 + shipping

So blake, what do you think of my previous inquiry, can I get the FD pan, but without the engine mount holed drilled, everything else would be identicle. I can't simply plug the holes, because 3 of the regular pan mount holes will pass through the same real estate that the engine mount holes are in. I have the engine mounted now with a regular FD pan with the holes welded shut, works but real ugly.
