newbie here, hope this isn't too much of an ignorant question. i'm looking at buying my first fd, a 94 touring that had a pfs pmc installed way back in 96-97. my understanding is that it's a piggyback system in conjunction with the stock ecu. how easy is it to remove? and would dong so take it back to stock without needing additional parts? thanks
The few I have taken out have been really simple. You pretty much unplug it and it comes out. Typically there is a trim sw in the glove box. You will most likely need to cut the wires as the few I have seen were soldered in. You will need to make sure the modifications to your car do not require you to have an aftermarket fuel management. If you remove the PFS PMC without making the necessary tuning modifications you may blow up your engine.
The peter ferrel piggy back does not have a controller. Most of the systems with hand held controllers don't work very well. Well, the capability of the controllers are not very good.
I have a 93 fd with the purple Pfs ecu installed and I'm trying to uninstall it and bring it back to stock.
Been looking everywhere for someone who know something about these, it seems really messed up, can someone help please?

Are you from Roseville Northern California? In the photos you have two separate items you are dealing with. One is the PFS PMC and the other is a factory RX7 dealer installed fan harness. The PFS is the yellow connector attached to the ECU in the last pic and the black plugs with blue/grey tabs in the first pic. The black boxes are the Mazda harness. I don't know why but you have two in the pics. AFAIK you should only have one. One box and one harness.
You can remove all of it. The Mazda fan controller harness is not needed but recommended to have. Don't be afraid to remove too much. Just don't cut anything. Is the car modified at all? Intake, Exhaust, Intercooler...??
Yes I am in Roseville, I believe it's fairly stock, these wires are already cut, what are they for?

Those should be connected. I dont know why they are cut. from the pics you have way more than you should. Just take it out and lay it all out. It may make more sense then.
Nice I'm actually from the Bay Area this is my first year out this way, but I'm running into a lot of problems, I don't understand why there are two black boxes they both seem to be hooked up, and under the hood there is this..

All of that is fan control related. They may have had an issue at one point and had to do all of the patch work to get it working again. BTW the way, look at the wires towards the bottom of the pic. They look like the same awg and color as the ones you have cut by the ECU. They may have taken wires from the inside to repair the outside.,
what do you suggest i do with it? i really have no idea what to do with it

If the fans work, then you can either leave it or figure out what is damaged and fix it. If it doesn't work you have to fix it. Without seeing it first hand it is hard to say what really needs to be done.
do you know anyone on this forum who is out this way who could help? ill post more pics once things are out more
