Well. Block is still out. I am off to pick up my mounting system tomorrow. Seems the fab shop did one better and made me a Cadd drawing. Fig I will get it test fitted before i share it with the world.

Though I do have a few pics.

As of this morning i get a call from a kid with a 13Btt and tranny.
Two probs, 1 - it aint runnin
2 - I think he is lookin for a bid war, not sure
So I will keep it in mind. And see where it goes. In reality, I have seen 3 gen's go, and they can haul booty.
But then if you search on Youtube for a "1000 hp Buick" ... where he actually overloaded the Dyno, you might understand.

But most of tomorrow will be rebuilding the bottom end of the T/A. Spun Rod Bearing.

But! By my hand she will live again! So here's the plan. (BTW...she cleans up nice).

I don't know sh@t about roto's! And can't afford an LS1 Swap. My solution ...

a GM 3800 Series III
9.0:1
Rollers, Strip/Street Cam
Ported and Tuned
1.8 Rockers
60# injectors
M90 SC (Gen5)
w/ 3" pulley
Mallory 110fi pumper
backed by a T56 w/ racing clutch
and a 6 core Rad.

To my knowledge this is a bird of a diff color. I would love to try the new GM 3.4 all Alum.
HAHA Almost the same weight as a stock roto, but 320+ N/A ...mmm good!

Will keep you posted on the progress.

if you're doing all this, you can easily afford an LS1 swap.

If you have read the thread ...
1. I have an LS1 in my T/A
2. This is an experimental swap
3. My goal is to get the same HP/TQ from a lighter platform
4. At the end of this swap, I will have maybe 2k total into the car
- as where (since u live in TX, you should know) a running LS1 alone runs 2-3k at best! Not to mention Tranny, Grannys/Henson/etc hardware?

My goal over all is to address the following:
Roto life expectancy 60 - 80k mi
More fuel efficient daily driver (like the tuners - than the LS1)
A more dependable Motor. a 3.8 is a chameleon and more managable system.
PM/Repair availablity
Space and weight
And less structural modifications (it can be undone without depreciating the car)

The LS1 is a powerhouse that fits, no doubt. but too much power and not
enuff ability to get it all to the ground. That is where the Roto's rep comes in.
Low torq, high end horsepower. Slo off the line but its all on the ground.

I am so glad to know many of you tuners/ add-on masters, have progressed to engine swaps. But it seems that design, originality and skillfull technique haven't made it into the evolution. There's some kid here that took a std LS1 and put 2 huge *** turbos in the middle of his serpentine sys!!! And he found that anything over 6psi (total) is just melting rubber!!!

So this is the duality of tuners?

Let me be clear

I run 9's with a 60 year old truck.
That I built from scratch. And I do all my own work.
I have 8 frame off classic restos under my belt. Incl. 67 Wildcat, 69 Chevelle ss, 56 210, 63 C10, 68 225, 47 Spec Dx, 1912 Buick Truck, and soon a 427 rat-A.

I do this as a hobby and for the enjoyment. **** I even do my own paint and upholstery.
It is one thing to have die hard "Haters" up my *** on this forum,
but if you guys are just here to criticize or just to add ur .02 - then sell it
to those who will listen.

You dont read the threads, or even the rules of the forum. Not to mention
not one single damn clue!
