metering pumps! to inject or mix?

Which is best, mixing or injecting oil? There must be some effect on combustability of fuel when mixed with oil. Conversely, does injecting the oil lubricate as efficiently as mixing?

Clearly mixing in a street driven vehicle is a nuisance but is it preferred?

Any input? Interest?
