Smile looking for a project

Hi I am very new to the club but I have an idea for a project and I need some help. Last week I found a 2nd gen at the scrap yard body looks good , I mean good enough to start a project car out of. They told me the chassis and frome were good but the motor was no good, but that is ok because thats where the project begins. I was hooping to put a sr20det, or 2jzgte but I have never been realy under the hood of one of these cars. I was wondering if anyone else had ever done a simmilar swap if you had ane info that could be helpfull. Anything would be great. eg: wiring diagrams, motor mount locations, undercarriage mods, will it fit between the frame rails. anything.

Thank's for any and all help!

I've looked and noone I know of have done these swaps. The most common swap is a 13b <13bt...and for the more dareing a 20b.

As far as putting a non-mazda engine in it. Check grannysspeedshop.com and hinsonsupercars.com

btw, if you were going to put either of those engine's in it you'd have to fab. EVERYTTHING...way too much trouble in my opinion, just go for the LS1.

No. If it doesn't have 2 numbers and a "B" it doesn't belong in a 7....with an exception or two.

If a b16 will what majaor difference is there that will stop an sr20det. because these can be made to fit in cars that had a b16 stock. come on guys I know ther must be someone out there that has done this sort of swap before.

look on the v8rx7 section of Torquecentral.com and do a search. I believe someone posted about an FD with an SR20DET motor in there that runs low 10's and big MPH.
