Old school kit. How'd you get the 2jz to sit so low?

We just custom made the sub frame to make the motor sit and far back and as low as possible. We notched the front cross bar to allow for the steering rack to sit as close to stock as possible. Didnt move it far from stock location, got it aligned just fine and as far as i can see no issues of bump steer or any other funny suspension problems.

No not yet, im too scared to do any serious launches at this time. Im rolling into the power, its pretty scary lol. I want to get the 8.8IRS rear end in there before i go around trying to snap axles.

the rear will hold up just fine. Just dont let it wheel hop real bad. Those tires wont hook good enough to break the diff. Mine is holding up fine so far and im on 16'' drag radials on a 1.5jz with around 550whp and over 470 rwt so far on wastegate

If you move the rack at all, you'll have bump steer unless you correct it by spacing down the tie rod ends the same amount.

You can measure bump steer using a bump steer gauge or on an alignment machine with the springs out and using a jack or lift to move the suspension through it's range of travel.

what have you done as far rear susepenion? ive heard a couple people that a degree or so if negative camber will help reduce wheel hop. as of now im zero all around on camber and havent really lanuched it.

I have tein springs on tokico shocks on stock alignment. I haven't done a drag spec alignment yet. Ive cut 1.7-1.8 60' very easy on my Toyo drag radials. These FDs will hook as long as you have a good tire under them like a ET street. I will be doing all the basic drag setup soon

When i was still rotary, i could cut 1.8 60' on my 18's w/ 265/35-18 tires with ease. Its all in how you work the clutch

Congrats on making it to the magazines!

I'm hoping to do the same once my ride is running and I clean up the body with some fresh paint!

A good racing shop should be able to verify that for you. It's definitely worth checking. Congrats on the feature.

Westly Yacinthe isn't looking for a fight when he says that the Toyota Supra's 2JZ-GTE engine is superior in every way to Mazda's 13B-REW rotary. "[The 2JZ] is everything I want and need it to be: powerful, aggressive, and, most importantly, reliable," he says. "[You] can't always put those three requirements in the same sentence as the word rotary."

Oh. Snap.
