I did find a thread on some site that said the FB was 29" from frame rail to frame rail.

That's one question checked off the list.

I asked these questions in the 1st gen specific forum. I wasn't deceitful and didn't lie to anyone and when asked I admitted I was thinking about doing a RX-V8. At least one person didn't like the idea.

I did get some answers though. Here are the condensed answers in case anyone else wants this info.

How long is the engine compartment? ~28.5" to the back of the radiator

How wide is the engine compartment at the top of the strut towers? ~35"

How wide is the engine compartment at the frame rails? ~29"

How tall is the engine compartment from the engine cross member to the hood line? ~23.5" to the top of the fan shroud

I also found out that a stock 12a from the bottom of the oil pan to the top of a Weber is ~26" tall and just touches the hood.
