I found this article on this very nice FD, and a very interesting engine swap.

Yeah they have a nice website.

That motor is a newer one i think and shows good results. I thought about this swap in a fd. I have a friend that is making 500hp easy with that motor in his sc300, borg warner turbo..etc

jz

the car was at SEMA last year and I had the chance to talk to one of the owners. He was a really down to earth guy and was very informative on all the different kinds of conversions they do(240-1jz.etc). The Rx was beautiful and the conversion looked like it was a factory unit.

What's so interesting about a 2JZ besides it being overrated?

Nice, but it not a true Rx-7 if it does not have the roary engine inside. I mean would a ferrari have the same mystique and value if it had....umm, say a chevy small block?...No.

FL amazing

this is probably the ultimate swap, that's why im in the middle of doing one. replacing my blown rotary. get most of the handling of a rx7 and the endless power of a supra. doesnt get much better.

keep up the great work tech 2...
FYI, tech 2 is awesome to work with, great people.

What's overrated about it?

Based on your screen name I would guess you didnt "just find" the article. Ha. Be proud of your car, no need to pretend to be someone who stumbled upon it.

The difference is that a Ferrari is actually worth more in stock form. RX-7s aren't.

No reason to get all bunged up about someone else swapping a more reliable engine into a dime-a-dozen import that most people wouldn't look at twice. It's not like they did it to your car while you weren't looking. I could understand getting upset about something like that...

But its not YOUR car is it? Its like me telling you that your girlfriend needs to dress prettier or keep herself up better. Not my business, so why should I have a "right" to say it.
