2jz in a RX7
Hey guys, I'm a huge rotary fan and love RX7s. The other day I came across a video where they put a toyota Supra 2JZ motor in a Honda S2000, which I thought was pretty crazy. At the end of the video they showed their next project: a 2JZ Powered FD which really caught my interest because I am a huge Supra fan, well more a fan of their incredible engines. Anyways, I wanted to come on here and see if there are any guys who already have a RX7 with a 2JZ motor. If so, I would really like to hear what they have to say about the whole swap, how much work went into it, the wiring harness, cost, and how they are liking it. I am very interested in doing this as my next project. I know a lot of people swap LS1s into RX7s, but people put those motors in anything! lol.

I completely and utterly do not understand this swap. It's been done before once, to my knowledge, by SP engineering, and it ***** the weight balance something awful, and doesn't even fit under the hood. The 2JZ is a giant hunk of iron, I wouldn't suggest putting one in an FD, and even if you do, don't post about it here or you'll just get flamed to high hell.

yup.. LS1 is an def. an easier swap in all models of RX7, which is why I'd rather see the 2JZ around more often, particulary in a 90 GTU (currently my endeavor). Bumpsteer can be resolved even if the engine is tall and long.
