im in the process of a sb conversion, its comming along pretty well considering i can only work on it 2 days a week. i went out to some local street races tonight and there was a modded t2 running against a low 13 second turbo'd 240. he kept up over and over.

so im just wondering what some of you guys (gals?) run at the track with the v8 powered fc's?

mines an 86 SE.

Only been to the track once so far. 2 passes, 12.54 and 12.51, both at 107 mph.

The motor in the car now is a test of sorts. I wanted to get the V8 in there and running/driving to be sure I liked what I ended up with. Guess what: I do! So now I am building the bigger motor to make it fast

It's kinda funny actually. I didn't originally build it to take it to the track. I wanted to run it a few times to see what it would do, but it was mainly put together as a street car.

But now two factors are involved: I want an FD as a daily driver and cruiser; and now that I've seen what the car will do with a junk motor, I want to make it faster. I don't want to tag and insure 2 RX7's so I'm seriously considering making the FC a track car.

Unfortunately, time and money are factors, so the FC may sit just like it is. Heck, I might even sell it to give me a few bucks towards the FD. But if I keep it, it's going 9's. No doubt in my mind.

My car was only a V6 as well..... I built it to commute to work and not be late. Did over 300 miles/wk rain/shine in it for nearly a year.

'87 FC with Stock '87 Buick Grand National engine (3.8i turbo V6), small cam upgrade, home ported stock iron heads with stock valves 3 angle valvejob (my first time porting), stock lower intake, stock TB/MAF, stock GN turbo, upgraded FMIC (Spearco), 2 1/2" downpipe, $100 single 3" NON MANDREL bent exhaust/Dynomax Ultraflo 3" muffler.

21*psi, 116 octane, 26* race chip, on Nitto 245/50/16 DR's....
Sacramento Raceway:
1.71 60ft
94mph 1/8th mile
11.76 et 1/4 mile
115mph
Torque convertor unlocked. Should've gone mid/low 11's@118mph+ on stock turbo.

I'm building an LS1/FD now. Goal is 10.90's on the motor n/a, 26mpg+ highway, and awesome handling/braking. Daily driver.
