Did you respray your engine compartment before dropping the 2j in, or is that the factory silver finish?

Why not Tech 2 Motorsports, or the shop that built Roach Diddy's? They are the only ones who actually have running projects. At least that's how it seems.

you may want to try them again in a few weeks. they were busy as hell when you called... i remember joey saying something about you calling.
i do know that he doesnt want you calling just to waste his time giving you prices and then never doing the work. he gets tons of calls for this swap... so save him the time if you dont have the money to do it! but if you do have the money give him a call again he will do you right

a few guys and i went over this on supraforums.com and after looking up all of the weights of 13b's, ls1's and the 2jz... i took off the heaviest parts ie: stock intake manifold, exaust manifols, stock twins (weigh a ton)
we came up with about 105lbs more than the 13b give or take 10lbs...

i think they are a very hard thing to built right... both puting the steering rack in the right place for bump steer issues. other than that very easy thing to build

interesting. so how much does a stock 2jz longblock weigh with all of the stock stuff and accessories installed?

edit: after some searching on google, everyone claims the 2jzGTE fully dressed weighs ~590 lbs.
people on ls1tech claim the ls1 fully dressed weighs ~500 lbs
just for reference.

just for reference.

13B-REW = ~430 lbs
LS1 = ~525 lbs
2JZ-GTE = 594 lbs

now what transmission if any are those weights referenced after?
164lbs isnt to bad stock fot stock... i bet i lost 10ish on the exaust manifold, 25+lbs on the turbo setup, and 5-8lbs on the intake manifold... thats just a guess in weight though. we will all see what the total weight is when its done.

its very close to being done... just have to wire it up, but im having a hard time finding a 93-98 supra wiring harness. but after i get that it shouldnt be to long at all. when its wired up then its just mounting the drive shaft... we could custom wire the whole thing but it will be much cheaper to just buy the supra harness to plug into the aem.

So I'm leaning twards a 2j project for my 7, was wondering how you guys are doing on the bump steer problem and what steps have you guys been taking...
what I'm thinking is to buy all the subframe and crap like that from tech2 or 2jzswap.com and do it at home but unless theres a cheaper way that you are doing ...

roach diddy, I'm getting eager to start piecing my project now... I was wondering for you swap where did you get the kit from... I'm planning to buy full kit and do it at home... and looking at the options I have and so far I only know if 2jzswap.com...

I've tried to research about this 2jz swap but not much info around... if i end up not finding a kit that eliminates steering bump I might just go with LS1 .... I dont really care if i can use stock hood or not tho....

The 2jzswap/Tech2Moto (same company) subframe does not move the steering rack so no bumpsteer fix is needed. Engine would stick out of the stock hood however.
